Mtime.com, an IMDB-like film service platform, reportedly secured tens of millions of dollars financing from Fidelity Asia Ventures, F&H Fund and Tiger Global LLC (report in Chinese).

Founded in 2006, Mtime constructed a large database of films and artists. It has a large and loyal audience.  Having expanded to the mobile, its app offers information about movies, promotions and tickets.

Mtime has established cooperation relationship with 2,500 cinemas countrywide, nearly three quarter of the total, offering low prices and services like seat selection.

As China’s movie industry are seeing booming box-office growth. Downloads of China’s movie ticket apps exceeded 24 million this May, according to data released by Entgroup, a research institute focused on China’s entertainment industry. Similar movie services,  including Douban Film, Maoyan, QQ Film, Piao.buding.cn, etc., mushroomed.
