Coupon Rani, an Indian service for offers and coupons online, conducted a survey among users of its websites on online shopping.

Of the over 100 respondents, 53% were below 25 years and 40% between 26 to 40. Coupon Rani believes this is similar to the demographics of Indian online shoppers.

Here are the key findings of the survey,

  • Convenience and discounts are top reasons for shopping online.

  • 27% of respondents purchase majority of their good online. Over two thirds shop more than 30% online.

  • 95% of Respondents Look for Discounts and Coupons Before Purchasing. Coupon/Deal Sites, Google Search and Social Media are the top 3 places for shoppers to find coupons and offers. But it can hardly tell the whole picture as all respondents are from Coupon Rani’s sites.

It is estimated that e-commerce in India is approximately $1.6 billion in sales and is expected to grow by 2 to 4 times in next 2 to 3 years, according to Coupon Rani.
