Chinese short-video platform Douyin said in a Saturday statement that it has taken down more than 8,000 related video clips of a hit TV show produced by Tencent. The response came after Tencent sued the platform for copyright infringement last week and sought RMB 100 million ($15.4 million). The TV show, Crime Crackdown, is produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures, a Chinese film distributor and production company owned by Tencent. Douyin claimed that it had signed a deal to promote the show on its platform. [National Business Daily, in Chinese]
