The Beijing branch of Chinese internet regulator the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) said on Monday that it has summoned Zhihu, a Quora-like Q&A platform in China, for unlawful release of information. The regulator asked the company to “rectify immediately and punish people in charge of the matter.” The company pledged full compliance with the order and said it will suspend relevant functions while it investigates and rectifies the matter. Regulators have imposed fines on microblogging service Weibo and social media platform Douban for similar violations this month. [CAC Beijing, in Chinese]
