Huawei and automaker Seres received 6,500 pre-orders in the first four days of the Aito M5 electric SUV being available, state-owned media outlet China Securities Journal reported Sunday, citing a sales employee from a Huawei store in Shenzhen. The customers all left a non-refundable deposit of RMB 10,000 ($1,569) for each pre-order of the newly-announced EV, the staff member added. The telecommunication giant unveiled the first vehicle equipped with its HarmonyOS operating system and manufactured by domestic automaker Seres on Dec. 23, with delivery scheduled for late February.
