China’s CATL was the biggest electric vehicle battery maker in the world in 2021, controlling 32.6% of the global EV battery market, according to data compiled by market tracker SNE Research. The Chinese battery giant supplied 96.7 gigawatt-hours (GWh) worth of consumption in 2021, an increase of 167% from the previous year. South Korea’s LG Energy Solution was second on the list with 60.2 GWh, commanding 20.3% of the market share.
