Chinese automaker BYD and energy giant Shell said Thursday that they have agreed to launch a joint venture in China with plans to begin by operating more than 10,000 charging facilities in Shenzhen and later expand the network across the country. The two companies will also partner to provide BYD’s electric vehicle owners with Shell’s membership services and access to 275,000 charging points in Europe, while also working on developing home energy solutions in other regions around the world.
