Airbnb will facilitate the migration of Chinese hosts to several rival platforms before its withdrawal from the Chinese market, according to a statement the company released on Friday. Airbnb hosts in China are being given the opportunity to transfer their data such as housing information and review history to platforms including Meituan Homestay, Xiaozhu/Fliggy, and Tujia before July 25. These platforms will further support the hosts by directing traffic to their listings and offering gift vouchers. Nearly one thousand hosts have been transferred over the past week, according to Airbnb. The US home rental giant announced in late May that it is closing accommodation listing services in China from the end of July, focusing its efforts in the Chinese market on outbound tourism services instead.
