Xpeng Motors has reportedly promoted Li Pengcheng, its head of branding and communication, to assistant to the chief executive, part of a previously announced restructuring that comes as the electric vehicle maker tries to recover from a sales slump. Li will report to CEO He Xiaopeng, sources familiar with the matter told Chinese financial media outlet CLS on Tuesday, without revealing further details. On Oct. 21, the EV maker announced an ongoing reorganization, forming a number of new teams with the aim of more efficient and collaborative cross-functional decision-making. The company’s vehicle delivery plunged by 50% year-on-year to 5,101 units in October, its fourth monthly decline in a row since July. [CLS, in Chinese]
