Chinese phone maker Vivo launched the S16 series on Thursday in China with a jade-like body design and a competitive price tag. The series has three models: S16, S16 Pro, and S16e. The former two have the same body size and use 6.78-inch curved display with an identical weight of 182 grams, slightly heavier than the iPhone 14. The S16e has a smaller 6.62-inch flat display and heavier weight. The series is equipped with a ring-shaped LED light in the back and a dual flashlight for the front cameras with softening design. The feature can help users to capture nice portraits in low light. Vivo S16 series also has a special technique for the mint versions to create a jade-like look in color and texture. For chipsets, the standard version has a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, the Pro came with a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor, while S16e uses a 5nm Samsung processor Exynos 1080. The series offers up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage of UFS 3.1 standard. All three models have a 4,600 mAh battery with a 66 W charging speed. Vivo S16 series will be available on Dec. 30 in China, priced from RMB 2,099 to RMB 3,599 (from $300 to $515). [ITHome, in Chinese]
