TikTok owner ByteDance has reportedly laid off 10% of its workforce across Douyin, TikTok, and Jinri Toutiao units, as well as at its Feishu unit, with the team behind its enterprise software product being the most affected. Often seen as the Chinese version of Lark, Feishu cut more than 1,000 employees after a performance evaluation conducted in October, according to a report from local media outlet Jiemian. Some employees negotiated with the company to leave with an “N(working years)+1” compensation package, while a few refused to leave as they were yet to agree a deal on employee stock options or find new jobs, the report noted.
