Xpeng Motors is looking to hire Wang Fengying, the former deputy chair and president at Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor, and will likely name her as chief executive officer in the coming weeks, two local media outlets reported this week. Discussions are in the final stages, though there remain some issues to be resolved, sources told Jiemian on Thursday. An Xpeng spokesperson responded that the EV maker has been under business restructuring for a few months and is looking for talented people to join its team, adding that current chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng will remain in overall charge. Wang joined Great Wall Motor in 1991 and became the highest executive under founder Wei Jianjun in 2016, before leaving the company in July last year. [Jiemian, in Chinese; TechNode reporting]
