Baidu is developing a ChatGPT-like application, and has plans to launch the conversational artificial intelligence assistant in March in a move aimed at to accelerating AI adoption and drive business growth, Bloomberg reported on Monday. The Chinese search engine will initially embed the service in its existing platforms, the report said, helping fuel a rise in the company’s share price by as much as 5.8% in the morning session. A Baidu spokesperson declined to comment. ChatGPT was launched by OpenAI in November. On Jan. 23, Microsoft said it will continue funding the San Francisco-based startup and incorporate the AI tool into its Office Suite and cloud computing service Azure. [Bloomberg]
