Meituan appears a step closer to a launch in Hong Kong with local media outlets reporting that the mainland Chinese food delivery giant has posted job advertisements for delivery riders on multiple channels in the territory. Meituan has reportedly set up a temporary office in Hong Kong and is expected to officially launch its delivery service in the third quarter of this year. The job postings are for two types of delivery workers: riders and walkers. Riders are divided into motorbike and bicycle riders, while walkers will be required to run errands on foot. If a delivery person can complete a large number of orders in one month, the monthly salary could reach HK$35,000 (around $4,500), according to the postings. [Zaker, in Chinese]
