DingTalk, a workplace app owned by Alibaba, has purchased online collaboration platform Wolai, local tech media outlet 36Kr reported on Monday, as the internet giant tries to stay competitive in the growing market for productivity tools. Following the acquisition, Wolai’s R&D team will become full-time employees of DingTalk, while its customer services will join Alibaba’s outsourcing department, a person with knowledge of the deal told the outlet.
