Midjourney, an AI-powered image generator, is now available to Chinese creators via Tencent’s instant messaging app QQ. The development was announced on Midjourney’s official WeChat account on Monday. While Midjourney does not offer free trials outside of China, Chinese creators who join the generative AI product’s QQ channel can create up to 25 images for free, though some features are only be available to members. The QQ channel will open to new entrants at 6 p.m. every Monday and Friday starting from May 15, and will be closed after reaching a certain number of participants.
