On June 12, 360GPT-S2-V8, a large-scale language model developed by Qihoo 360, passed the evaluation of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) for its “trustworthy AIGC large language model basic capabilities.” Qihoo 360 is known for owning the most popular cybersecurity software and the second most popular browser in China. It is now the first domestic large language model product to pass the evaluation of the CAICT, a research institution directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. CAICT’s large language model working group was founded to promote the industry’s development and features vice chairs from Chinese tech giants such as iFlytek, Huawei, and Baidu, as well as from the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The evaluation conducted by CAICT included 10 essential criteria: generation and creation, multi-turn dialogue, coding ability, logic and reasoning, knowledge-based question answering, reading comprehension, text classification, translation, text rewriting, and multimodal (text-to-image).
