Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (IDG) has announced that its global AI infrastructure business has surpassed $2 billion in annual revenue, according to Chinese media outlet 36Kr. Lenovo plans to invest an additional $1 billion over the next three years to accelerate AI deployment in enterprises worldwide. As part of this investment, the company will allocate $100 million globally to develop the Lenovo AI Innovator Program. In its first year, the program has already collaborated with 45 leading independent software vendors (ISVs) to develop over 150 advanced AI solutions. Lenovo implemented a new organizational structure effective April 1, 2021, dividing its business into three focused groups: Intelligent Devices Group (IDG) concentrating on smart IoT devices, Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) focusing on intelligent infrastructure, and Solutions & Services Group (SSG) dedicated to industry intelligence and services. Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo’s Chairman and CEO, stated that the adjustment aimed to “fully utilize IT to empower the transformation and upgrading of the economy.” [36Kr, in Chinese]
