Qualcomm introduced its latest midrange lineup, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, on Monday. The company says the new chipset delivers improved 5G connectivity, faster display support, and enhanced photography capabilities. Built on a 4nm process, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 serves is a direct successor to last year’s 6nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. The new chip incorporates the Kryo CPU, offering peak speeds of up to 2.2 GHz. This represents a 10% increase in performance compared to the previous generation. Additionally, the processor is equipped with fast-charging technology, enabling a 50% charge within 15 minutes, according to Qualcomm. The chip maker also revealed that Vivo and Xiaomi’s Redmi will be among the first phone brands to feature devices powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset in the second half of 2023.
