Apollo Go, the autonomous ride-hailing unit of China’s Baidu, said on Saturday it has launched fully driverless commercial ride-hailing services open to the public in Abu Dhabi, marking its first overseas deployment of such services. The service, launched in partnership with UAE-based autonomous mobility company AutoGo, allows residents and tourists to hail fully autonomous vehicles via the AutoGo app.

Operations have started on Yas Island and will be gradually expanded to other parts of the emirate, the companies said. Apollo Go received one of Abu Dhabi’s first permits for fully driverless commercial operations in November 2025. Baidu and AutoGo also said they plan to deepen their cooperation, with an aim to deploy hundreds of autonomous vehicles in 2026 to form the city’s largest fully driverless fleet. [TechNode Reporting]
