A former vice president of sales at Chinese drone maker DJI has been criminally detained by public security authorities on suspicion of accepting bribes as a non-state employee, according to Jiemian News. The executive, surnamed Yuan, served as DJI’s vice president from May 2019 to May 2024 and oversaw the company’s global sales operations during that period. Yuan is suspected of exploiting his position to accept large sums of money through channel partnerships, order allocations and other business arrangements, allegedly causing significant losses to the company. The case has entered judicial proceedings. DJI has not publicly responded to the matter. [Jiemian News, in Chinese]
