Open-source AI agent project OpenClaw on Tuesday launched its official Weibo account in China, attracting swift attention from the country’s AI sector, with leading domestic companies posting messages of support. Firms including Zhipu AI, Baidu, Tongyi Qianwen and Kimi welcomed the move in the account’s comment section. OpenClaw, led by an Austrian developer, focuses on converting large language models into executable instructions, enabling agents to autonomously carry out complex tasks such as cross-platform coordination and software development.

Based on multiple reporting from tech news sites, OpenClaw’s GitHub star count has indeed recently surpassed those of both Linux and React, and it is being reported as the most-starred software project on GitHub at the time of writing. OpenClaw said it plans to use the Weibo account to share technical updates and promote broader adoption of AI tools in the Chinese market. [TechNode Reporting]
