Li Auto is said to be preparing to release a two-wheel robot designed for factory manufacturing scenarios later this year, according to people familiar with the matter.
Sources said the company has been developing robotics products for nearly a year under an internal team code-named “Nexus.” The unit is led by He Junpei, a former hardware partner at robotics startup Jiuguang.
The company is also said to be developing a bipedal robot under the same initiative, though the two-wheel model is expected to debut first. Several automakers including Tesla and XPeng have been exploring robots for factory use. [21st Century Business Herald, in Chinese]
