Earlier reports suggested that Changan Automobile planned to adopt an advanced driver-assistance system from Qianli Technology (Afari Technology) and deepen cooperation through an equity investment. Changan has denied the claim, saying it has no such plans. A source close to the company said Changan’s self-developed Tianshu intelligent driving system has entered a harvest period, making it unlikely the automaker will switch providers.

Changan has long emphasized in-house control over core smart-driving technologies, backed by a dedicated R&D team of more than 5,000 engineers. In December 2025, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology approved the first batch of L3 conditional autonomous driving vehicles. Changan’s Deepal SL03 was included, equipped with its in-house Tianshu system. [TechWeb, in Chinese]
