Job Responsibilities
- Report on China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry for an international audience, focusing on industry trends, technology breakthroughs, market dynamics, and key players.
- Monitor and understand the current state of the global EV industry, especially in Europe and North America, including policy developments, market competition, and consumer adoption trends.
- Connect developments in China’s NEV sector with global industry context to help overseas readers understand China’s role in the worldwide EV ecosystem.
- Cover major announcements, product launches, and overseas expansion strategies of leading Chinese automakers.
- Track how China’s EV supply chain, battery technologies, and infrastructure developments are influencing global markets.
- Draw on both Chinese- and English-language sources to provide well-rounded, exclusive insights for overseas readers.
- Produce daily news updates as well as brief analytical pieces that make China’s automotive industry accessible to readers in Europe, North America, and beyond.
- Participate in editorial planning and support coverage of major auto shows, forums, and international industry events where Chinese automakers are present.
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in automotive, technology, or business journalism; experience covering the NEV sector or related supply chains is a plus.
- Strong English writing and research skills, with the ability to make complex industry developments clear and engaging for a global audience.
- Comfortable working with both Chinese- and English-language materials, including news reports, financial filings, and regulatory documents.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to China’s broader technology and startup ecosystem, and the ability to connect automotive developments with wider innovation trends.
- Knowledge of the global EV industry, especially in Europe and North America, including market players, technology trends, and policy environment, is preferred.
- Strong time management and attention to detail, able to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
