Jun.28, on the press conference in Tokyo, Find Japan announced that it would partner with Sina Corp. to market its Twitter-like Weibo service in Japan. Sina will authorize Find Japan as the exclusive partner to verrify celebrity Weibo accounts  in Japan, which means Sina weibo officially taps into Japanese market.

The service is set to start on July 1. Under the terms of the agreement, Find Japan will provide Sina Weibo account verification services and other related services for Japanese companies, institutions, groups and celebrities in order to help those who want to reach out to Chinese audience and help Sina Weibo expand its services in Japanese market as well.

For those individuals and groups in Japan hoping to reach Sina’s 140 million microblog users, having a local doorway that can help them communicate directly by using this influential social media is undoubtedly a huge plus. The partnership will also help Sina to gain significant market share in Japan, as Sina Weibo has attained tremendous popularity in recent times.

Earlier this month, Sina revealed that it would launch an English version of Weibo globally aiming at oversea users, which is believed to bring Sina strong market share in international market. International expansion will provide Sina a diversified market, as it faces significant competition domestically from other giants. such as NetEase, Sohu, and Tencent.
