Baidu, the largest Chinese search giant, announced a restructuring plan of its business lines including sales, commercial operations, user products and technologies, commercial products and technologies(cloud computing and mobile included), and said it will implement an executive rotational program in an attempt to spur innovation and efficiency. This is the biggest ever organizational restructure since its founding in 2000.

According to Baidu, after the realignment the search company will achieve efficiency in products research and development, operation and sales; bring out the synergy effects among its divisions. It could also help Baidu to be more innovative in new market sectors.

At the same time, Baidu announced the departure of Shen Haoyu, its senior vice president of business operations. Shen will be joining Chinese online shopping powerhouse 360buy to serve as chief operating officer, people familiar with the matter said.

Observers remarked that, Shen’s hands-on experience in sales and payment management would be a boost to 360buy’s sales and operation capacity. The company raised over 1 billion in its latest round and was reportedly to go public soon.
