According to China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom’s latest release of operating data, 3G users in China now account for 9.5% of all mobile users, with 37.597 million 3G subscribers of China Mobile, 25.819 million of China Unicom and 23.56 million of China Telecom separately.

It’s also noteworthy that their monthly pace in adding new 3G customer is significantly faster compared to 2G service, which means vast majority of new subscribers choose 3G. It’s expected that by the end of this month, 10% of mobile users will be on 3G network.

And as some industry experts put it, once the mobile market hits that 10%, mobile internet industry and smartphone apps will enjoy tremendous market size with considerably profit opportunities.
