360Buy, the second largest Chinese B2C site by transaction volume is about to revamp its website with new homepage, new item page and so on, people familiar with the matter said.

The Beijing-based ecommerce giant is also considering migrating to a whole new online transaction system, probably because rising traffic took down its servers from time to time and that annoyed lots of its customers.

With the new designs, 360buy will be able to feature more banner ads on its website, through which the etailer can charge its suppliers and merchants for advertising fee. A neat way to bring in some money since the company hasn’t make profit yet and operating expense has been rising due to higher labor costs as well as skyrocketing online marketing expenditure – you can find the clue in Qihoo 360’s latest financial results or in the reports and the refutations written by Citron and the company.

360buy has’t commented on the matter yet.
