Gome is really at it. We wrote about Coo8, one of the online arms acquired by Gome has agreed on a comprehensive partnership deal with Etao to leverage the price engine for joint force promotion, affiliate program and so forth. Now, Gome.com.cn, the more-of-its-own online outlet of the HongKong-listed Gome Electrical Appliances Holdings Limited announced a strategic co-operation with Dangdang, one of the largest and long-established B2C sites.

Gome.com.cn (or Gome Online Mall) has been in talks with Dangdang for more than half a year with regard to the team-up, through which the two will be cooperate in areas like business process, technology, financial, etc. It’s more sophisticated than just operating an independent store on Dangdang or Taobao Mall.

According to industry statistics, books, clothes, and electronics ranked in the top three respectively in terms of Chinese B2C sales. A market that can not be ignored.

360buy.com has now turned itself from 3C etailer to a online general store with abundant inventories ranging from consumer electronics, books, apparel to stationary, home supplies and cosmetics. Lately the Beijing-based company stepped its toes into the fruitful online travel booking market with the debut of hotel and flights booking services.

One China ecommerce insider commented that:”360buy will be facing serious challenge in the wake of the Gome-Dangdang partnership as Gome enjoys real bargaining power in the market and Dangdang is one of most seasoned etailer in China”, the two will pose  a huge pressure on 360Buy in both online 3C and book forefronts.
