Jiayuan.com (NASDAQ: DATE), the largest Chinese dating site yesterday announced appointing Wu Linguang as co-CEO alongside Jiayuan’s founder Gong Haiyan.

Wu used to be the vice president of Kongzhong Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed Chinese digital entertainment service provider, where he headed the mobile and online game divisions managing a team of over 250 people.

Gong Haiyan said that “as a talented veteran of China’s Internet industry focused on developing user-focused Internet and wireless technology, Linguang shares our passion for creating the best possible user experience” and was “delighted to welcome Linguang to the Jiayuan team” as Jiayuan has been making great effort to facelift the Jiayuan offering and push forward with their exciting wireless initiatives.

On the other and, Wu commented that he’s excited to get started in the new role and through their dedication to improving life for China’s singles the Jiayuan team has built the undisputed industry leader.

It’s not a big surprise that Jiayuan keeps an close eye on the wireless forefront, the site has accumulated more than 2 million mobile users as of the fourth quarter of last year with the smartphone proliferation in China. The opportunity on mobile front is calling. And its competitors like Baihe.com, Zhenai.com are all investing big into the territory.
