Just now on my way to the campus, I scanned a QR code on a rare plant, and I got directed to a botany cyclopedia! Even a tree can have its own QR code now, what about you?

Good news for Weibo users. The QR Code service is finally released with the latest Weibo3.1.0. You can generate your own QR Code, and share it with your friends on Weibo or just print it on anything you like. Currently Weibo QR Code  service provides functions including adding friends, access to certain pages, and direct to some fixed-content Publish Box.

To generate your QR Code is available on all mobile devices or PCs. For PC users, go to http://m.weibo.com/web/qrcode/, enter your Weibo ID and you’ll see the code. Here’s Technode’s Weibo QR Code.  : )

This service seems a good way to improve user experience. You can print your QR code on your business card, or make some interesting labels as you like(on your shirt for example). It will be much easier to add friends in many situations such as meetings or parties. Just show your QR Code, and blink, two new friends.

For enterprise users, this could also be an efficient marketing method for promoting online events or ads to target readers. The small code with big data and fast readability has drawn much attention in media, internet and many other fields. Maybe in the near future, you can hear people say Scan me! rather than Hello.
