Wang Zhan, VP of Chinese search giant Baidu disclosed on Oct. 23 that the company’s ad revenue is expected to exceed RMB 20 billion this year, much higher than last year’s 14 billion.
Baidu’s ad revenue in Q1 and Q2 is 4.47 billion and 5.46 billion respectively, the total sum almost nearing 10 billion in the first half of this year. Ecommerce, online gaming, automobile, news and IT are the top five sectors that contribute to Baidu’s huge revenue.
Baidu has about 250k advertisers in China, and may reach 300k by the end of this year while Google has about 500k clients in U.S. and 1 million globally.
