The Weixin monetization move just went a bit further with the introduction of MFHui.com, a cosmetics vertical, into its Weixin Mall, which means Weixin users now can directly purchase personal care products from the communicating tool that they usually used to audio chat with friends or to find strangers nearby for a random and pointless chat.

By subscribing to Weixin’s public account, users can jump into MFHui’s virtual shop on Weixin platform and have access to its online shelves. For the time being, the Weixin shopping outlet only supports cash on delivery with other payment methods to be added afterwards. According to Lai Zhiming, GM of Tencent’s Tenpay, the company’s equivalent to Alipay, Weixin will be equipped with payment methods in the coming two months.

She reads, travels, photographs and writes, with interests in chronicling China tech scene and interpreting how technology disrupts the way people live.
