Food delivery service Daojia.com received Series C financing from JD.com and Morningside Ventures (report in Chinese). The capitals received this time will be used to improve the delivery service and expand service networks, according to Sun Hao, founder and president of the company.

Founded in April 2010, Daojia provides food delivery service to urban medium- and high-income families. Customers can place orders on the official website, mobile terminals or call center and Daojia will deliver the foods to their homes.

It has established cooperation relationship with over 1,800 restaurants, covering the core areas of Beijing and Shanghai. With a team of more than 500 deliverymen, the firm now provides services to hundreds of thousands of registered families. In addition, users can track real-time information of each order.

Catering unit is a vertical division closely related to the rigid demands of customers. Similar online food delivery website includes Ele.me and Kaichiba.com.
