mo9 (moKredit), the Chinese credit service provider for mobile games and virtual goods, has raised Series C funding from Ventech China to expand from mobile gaming to digital sectors such as video streaming, digital lottery tickets and social networks.
Essentially a mobile payments service, mo9 allows gamers to “play now, pay later”. As mo9 expands it further areas, it will enable users to “watch/read/listen now, pay later” as well as to “buy now, pay later”.
Founded by former PayPal American engineers in 2011, mo9 previously focused on markets outside mainland China. But recently the company were shifting focus to mainland China. The previous two rounds of funding were from Sequoia Capital China and Bertelsmann Asia Investments.
