On Oct. 29, the 2020 Shanghai Makers Awards Ceremony hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and organized by InnoSpace Incubator, was held in conjunction with TechNode’s Emerge 2020 conference at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.

The theme of this year’s competition was “Industrial Intelligence,” and its subevents were the EdgeX Competition, Smart Medical Competition, and the Emerge Conference. The competition was held both online and offline, and attracted around 200 applications from global hacker elites. After more than three months of selection, preliminaries, training, and roadshows, winning teams were selected from the medical, industrial, retail, automotive, and logistics industries.

Liang Bing, the deputy director of the Innovation Service Department of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission (STCSM), delivered a speech at the awards ceremony. She said that the Science and Technology Commission is ready to provide innovative services for innovators and entrepreneurs.

She emphasized that she hopes to create demand for big enterprises. There are many makers and entrepreneurs in Shanghai, as well as universities and educational institutes, which can serve big enterprises, and big enterprises can create a better scene for them. Talented makers are welcome to start their own businesses in Shanghai, and the STCSM will give their best efforts and services.

At the award ceremony, 25 teams won the first, second, third, special, and honorary awards.

The presenters were Sun Min, Co-Head of EdgeX China Community and Senior Marketing Manager at Intel; Yilin Xu, Senior Marketing Manager at Intel’s IoT Business Unit; Chris Wang, AI Marketing Director at IoT Business Unit; and Yinglei Ma, Deputy General Manager of SIMIC Incubator. Among the winning teams were i-Design, HYD Miracle Innovation, AI Cooling, Power Blazers, Huiyanshi Energy, Jiangxing Intelligence, JD Xinglian, Baowuzhiwei, CTC Jujishou, Xueyi jiu deliao hao jiemei, and Yizao Medicine.
