Chinese Q&A platform Zhihu reported a net loss of $49.7 million in the second quarter, a 177% increase from last year, according to its Q2 earnings released Monday. The firm’s continued high marketing expenses partly contributed to the widening losses. Revenues increased 144% yearly to $98.9 million. Average monthly active users (MAUs) on Zhihu grew 46% yearly to 94.3 million, while average monthly paying users were 4.7 million, 4% of its user base. [Zhihu]
