Chinese esports team Royal Never Give Up (RNG) beat Korean team SK Telecom T1 and won Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2022 champions on May 29. The victory made RNG the first team to win three titles at the major League of Legends esports event and only the second to be named MSI champions in consecutive years. MSI is the second-largest League of Legends competition organized by the title’s developer Riot Games, which Chinese gaming giant Tencent fully acquired in 2015. Official viewing figures for the final match hit 2.1 million, beating last year’s 1.8 million views to set a new all-time record for the tournament. [Dot Esports]
