Chinese gaming giant Tencent’s global brand, Level Infinite, announced on Twitter on Tuesday that it will bring the hugely popular Honor of Kings to overseas markets by the end of 2022. Launched in 2015, the title topped global gaming revenue charts in April 2022, according to US market intelligence firm Sensor Tower. The game followed the successful model of Tencent’s League of Legends on mobile platforms in China, providing similar gameplay while adding greater localization for Chinese players. The move is another attempt by Tencent to win market share in the international multiplayer online battle arena category after its title League of Legends: Wild Rift performed poorly.
