Chinese podcast and audiobook platform Ximalaya premiered the first official Chinese-language audiobook versions of the massively popular novel series Harry Potter on Tuesday. The audiobooks were authorized by the global publisher of the book series, Pottermore Publishing, and produced by Ximalaya. The platform worked with popular voice acting team, Voicegem, to record the series, while original sound effects were made for the Chinese version in order to ensure an engaging experience for listeners. Founded in 2012, Ximalaya had 268 million average monthly active users and 13.5 million content creators as of 2021. The firm is now seeking a listing on the Hong Kong exchange. It had previously planned to go public in the US. [TechNode reporting]
