Semiconductor company MediaTek launched its new high-end phone processor, the Dimensity 9000+, on Wednesday. The new 4nm chip is manufactured by TSMC, whose chips are more energy-efficient than Korean giant Samsung’s, according to Chinese review agency, Geekerwan. Compared to older models, the Dimensity 9000+ has a 5% and 10% improvement in computation and graphic performance, respectively. The chip also features new imaging tech, supporting 18-bit HDR video from three cameras simultaneously, as well as static image capture of up to 320 million pixels. The processor will likely be a strong competitor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, launched in May this year. [MediaTek, in Chinese]
