On Wednesday, three apps that were placed under China’s cybersecurity review last summer, around the same time as Didi was put under a similar investigation, received state approval to resume new user registrations. Online recruitment firm Boss Zhipin, which debuted on Nasdaq under the name Kanzhun, and Full Truck Alliance, which owns two trucking logistic platforms, Yun Manman and Huo Chebang, have been given the green light to add new users. Chinese internet regulators launched cybersecurity investigations into the three apps on July 5, 2021, a day after China asked all app stores to pull Didi’s apps due to privacy concerns. Nearly a year later, Didi is still under China’s cybersecurity investigation. [Reuters]
