Chinese processor company Loongson Technology announced that its processor instruction set architecture (ISA), LoongArch, is now supported by the System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) specification, meaning that any basic hardware information developed on the LoongArch platform will now be standardized and displayed uniformly. LoongArch became the fourth CPU ISA to be supported by SMBIOS, after x86, Arm, and RISC-V. SMBIOS is a premier standard for delivering management information via system firmware, and since its release in 1995, the standard has simplified the management of more than two billion client and server systems, according to its website.
