Avatr, the electric vehicle brand co-launched by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL late last year, has raised RMB 2.55 billion ($380 million) in Series A led by state-owned capitalist National Green Development Fund (NGDF), according to a Tuesday announcement. Changan remains the biggest shareholder with a holding of 41% after the funding round, which makes the total amount of equity funding raised by Avatr more than RMB 5 billion. The EV maker released the Avatr 11 last November, its first car model equipped with Huawei’s self-driving technology, with plans to begin delivery in the third quarter of this year.
