Major Chinese carrier China Telecom is selling phone cases for the newly released Huawei Mate 50 series for external 5G support, China Start Market reported on Tuesday. The case, developed by Shenzhen-listed tech company Soyea Technology, comes with a built-in e-SIM module to enable 5G communication. The case is sold alongside the phones, priced at RMB 799 ($113). Earlier this year, the firm released similar phone cases for Huawei’s high-end P50 Pro, selling via local carriers, at the same price. According to the firm’s official website, the latest generation of phone cases can preserve the phone’s speed charging feature and accessories connectivity. [China Start Market, in Chinese]
