Sales of Xpeng Motors’ latest electric crossover G9 could dominate its three lower-priced vehicles, as well as Audi’s popular Q5 series, with monthly deliveries estimated to exceed 10,000 units next year, chief executive He Xiaopeng said on Wednesday during a virtual conference. The eight-year-old automaker launched the G9, its second sports utility vehicle model, with a claimed 200 kilometers (124 miles) of range after a five-minute charge. The vehicle ranges in price from RMB 309,900 to RMB 469,900 ($43,693 to $66,251). Audi sold 58,864 Q5 compact SUVs in China in the first half of this year, a 10% decline from one year earlier, according to data provider CarSalesBase.com. [Xpeng release]
