Jidu Auto, the electric vehicle unit of Chinese search engine giant Baidu, launched a special edition version of its first production model the Robo-01 on Thursday, priced at RMB 399,800 ($55,245) and scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2023. The Lunar Edition of the crossover comes equipped with a 100 kilowatt-hours battery pack supplied by CATL and will be able to go about 600 kilometers (373 miles) on a full charge and from 0 to 100 km per hour in 3.9 seconds. Jidu claims that Baidu’s autonomous driving technology will enable the car to navigate both highways and urban environments, and provide a point-to-point autonomous experience to car owners starting in several major Chinese cities, where a high-definition map database is accessible.
