NetEase reportedly paid around 100 million euros (RMB 733 million) when it acquired game developer and publisher Quantic Dream at the end of August 2022. An official statement at the time of the deal came with no details of how much the Chinese gaming giant had paid for the Paris-based studio, however gaming news portal Huanqiu has cited sources as privately disclosing the 100 million euros figure, based on the value of their personal share earnings after the agreement. Founder David Cage holds 51% of Quantic Dream, known for games such as Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human. More recently, the studio has been working on a new action-adventure game as part of the Star Wars universe: Star Wars Eclipse. [Huanqiu, in Chinese]
