Huawei aims to strengthen its market penetration in the mid- to high-end EV customer segment by making alliances with several domestic automakers, Richard Yu, chief executive of Huawei’s consumer business group recently told reporters. EVs launched by Huawei and its manufacturing partners will not cost less than RMB 200,000 ($29,020), according to Yu, who said the firm aimed to sell a million electric cars all told by 2025. The Chinese telecommunication giant has collaborated with Seres, Changan, and BAIC to sell EVs since 2021 and is developing new partnerships with state-owned manufacturers JAC and Chery.
